The NatureTwins \u2013 Restorative and Sustainable Tourism with Digital Nature Twins in Madeira project<\/strong> aims to promote an innovative model of sustainable, inclusive tourism based on scientific knowledge, through the use of Digital Twin technology applied to the island of Madeira\u2019s natural ecosystems. The project integrates biodiversity mapping, real-time environmental monitoring, and the development of immersive experiences, with the goal of balancing environmental conservation with visitor experience quality.\n\nDetailed digital replicas of selected natural sites will be developed and integrated into a platform that combines ecological, meteorological, and tourist flow data, enabling adaptive ecosystem management and the promotion of responsible behaviour. The project contributes to the enhancement of the natural heritage of the Autonomous Region of Madeira and supports the transition to more sustainable tourism practices. We are looking for a grantee to join the NatureTwins project for 12 months at the Insect Collection of the University of Madeira \u2013 UMACI, one of the main entomological collections in Macaronesia.<\/span> The candidate will have the opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team, grow personally and professionally, enhance their CV, and enjoy the unique nature of the Madeira archipelago.<\/span><\/p>

Candidate Profile<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

<\/p>

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for fieldwork in natural environments, with an interest in biodiversity, conservation, and ecological monitoring, and availability to join an interdisciplinary research project that combines science and technology applied to sustainability.<\/span><\/p>
